Profile

The University of Thessaly (UTH) was founded in 1984 and welcomed its first group of students during the 1988-89 academic year. Its administration is based at the city of Volos; however, it has expanded in both the Thessaly and the Continental Greece Regions, with presence at the cities of Volos, Larissa, Karditsa and Trikala. UTH comprises of 8 Schools, 37 Departments and 71 postgraduate/master programs. The Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence, Computational Systems and Technological Applications (ACTA) lab of the Department of Energy Systems that participates in XTRUST-6G is located in Larissa, Greece. The group focuses on Expert Systems and Knowledge Representation, Fuzzy Cognitive Maps, Artificial Intelligence, Modeling and Prediction, Decision Support Systems, Data Mining, Machine and Deep Learning, Generative AI, Explainable AI, Intelligent Energy Systems and Cyber-Security. 

Role in XTRUST-6G

UTH plays an important role in XTRUST-6G project participating in various technical activitiesSpecifically, UTH leads tasks related to network monitoring, privacy preserving mechanisms network profiling mechanisms in 6G networks. Additionally, UTH will lead the preparation and pilot planning phases for the deployment of the technologies and 6G-oriented components that will be developed within XTRUST-6G, including O-RAN, network slice isolation in different infrastructures including EV charging, UAVs and autonomous vehicles. will contribute to AI-based collaborative intrusion detection, ML-driven physical layer security for 6G and federated 6G security event management and threat insights.
