XTRUST-6G Presented at PAIDS Launch Event at the University of Portsmouth
The XTRUST-6G project was presented during an in-person launch event organised by the Portsmouth AI and Data Science Centre (PAIDS) at the University of Portsmouth on 27 February 2026.
The event brought together researchers, academics, and students to exchange knowledge and discuss ongoing developments in 5G/6G network security, AI-driven zero-trust security mechanisms, and collaborative intrusion detection approaches. Around 20 participants attended the event, creating an interactive environment for discussion and networking among attendees working in related research areas.
During the event, the University of Portsmouth project team members — including Prof. Stavros Shiaeles, Dr. Gueltoum Bendiab, Dr. Rinat Khusainov, Dr. Katerina Kanta, Emma Priercy, Md Shariar Akhbar, and Dr. Mo Adda — delivered presentations and discussions on the XTRUST-6G project. The sessions provided insights into the project’s objectives, architecture, and ongoing research activities related to securing future 5G and 6G communication infrastructures.
The launch event also encouraged interactive exchanges between the project team and attendees, fostering discussions around emerging cybersecurity challenges, trustworthy AI systems, and the future of intelligent and resilient communication networks. A networking lunch organised with researchers from the University of Portsmouth further supported collaboration and knowledge sharing among participants.
Through initiatives such as this launch event, XTRUST-6G continues to strengthen engagement with the academic and research community while promoting awareness of innovative approaches to AI-enabled zero-trust security for next-generation networks.
