XTRUST-6G Holds 2nd Plenary Meeting in Nicosia, Cyprus

The XTRUST-6G project successfully held its 2nd Plenary Meeting in Nicosia, Cyprus, bringing together consortium partners from across Europe for two days of collaborative discussions, technical deep dives, and strategic alignment. The meeting was kindly hosted by ADDITESS – Advanced Integrated Technology Solutions & Services Ltd, showcasing Cyprus’s growing role in the field of secure and resilient communications.

The plenary offered a valuable opportunity for all work package leaders and technical teams to present progress, exchange feedback, and align on the roadmap ahead as we work toward our shared mission: delivering a trustworthy, cyber-resilient, and privacy-preserving 6G architecture built on Zero Trust principles.

Day 1 Highlights – July 1, 2025

The meeting opened with a warm welcome from ADDITESS and CERTH, followed by in-depth presentations of all five XTRUST-6G use cases:

  • Use Case 1: 6G-enabled EV Charging Infrastructure Resilience – Led by PPC
  • Use Case 2: Securing 6G-Connected Autonomous Vehicles – Led by TALTECH
  • Use Case 3: Quantum Key Distribution for End-to-End Security – Led by SNT
  • Use Case 4: Securing UAV-Assisted 6G Communications – Led by ADDITESS
  • Use Case 5: Protecting 6G Virtualized Infrastructure – Led by IQU

The afternoon session concluded with WP1 covering aspects related to coordination, dissemination, exploitation and clustering activities.

Day 2 Highlights – July 2, 2025

Day two began with a recap and continued with technical sessions on system architecture and the XTRUST-6G Zero Trust framework. Discussions focused on Deliverable D2.1 and architectural components critical to the secure-by-design platform we aim to build.

The rest of the meeting focused on updates from all remaining work packages covering aspects related to Identity Management, Trusted AI/ML, Cyber-Threat Detection, Quantum-Safe Technologies, Secure Orchestration, Integration, and KPI Evaluation.

A final General Assembly session wrapped up the meeting, confirming next steps and timelines for deliverables, integration planning, and the next Project Management Board (PMB) meeting.

A Milestone in Collaboration

The 2nd Plenary Meeting marks a significant milestone in the project’s first year, reaffirming the consortium’s commitment to pioneering a secure 6G future. The open dialogue, technical clarity, and shared sense of purpose set a strong foundation for the next phases of the project.
